Studying computing Ed East: When I was doing information systems analysis it was part of a consulting module. It was a good opportunity for me to sort of learn and develop the skills relevant to a career path. Ekta Ahira: For me the best bit is being so close to London. So, I'm from London and having that network to be able to get home quite easily. it's quite good. Professor Ian McLoughlin: It's hard to imagine any impact of the world that won't be affected by AI in the future. AI covers things like machine learning, data science, the analysis of large scale data sets and big data, and anything where computers are becoming intelligent. Direna Rugnato: The web development side was pretty fun. I didn't code before coming to university, so it was really great to actually get hands-on and get straight into coding. Emmanuel Molefi: You know, I would like to write software that can help improve and support people's lives. It made me feel grateful to know that I will get the opportunity to spend a year working on projects that have a real impact on people's lives. Jamie Bushby: The biggest thing for me about, the best bit of Kent is I think the support that's in place. You really feel like Kent has got your back essentially, like mentally, emotionally, financially. You know anything you'd consider could be a problem for you, the support the University gives you as an individual is a big thing. Professor Ian McLouglin: We love the year in industry because students get a chance to use their skills, skills that we've helped to teach them in a real setting. They get a salary, they do a real job in industry, they make a difference in the world.
