[Intro Music - Waiting For the Moment That Never Comes by Lee Rosevere] [Background music - Everywhere by Lee Rosevere] >> Speaker 1: It's just for me to be able to get out of the house for an hour or so, and just have some human conversation. Just having a break because your day, when your child is that young, revolves around that they need to eat next, when they're going to sleep next, keeping them clean, going to the shops. It's nice to just take a breath and relax. >> Speaker 2: I went along to this group and I'm still going now. People talked to me and smiled at me and made space for me and were happy to see me. And that's where I made my friends, you know, and that's where I met the people that I now meet up with, pop and see and message and everything like that - that group more than anything. >> Speaker 3: And it's stuff at home that you could do but you'd need a massive house to do it. And ideas, they give you ideas. Like putting feathers in a big plastic bowl and then shaking it up and down for them. I'd never have thought of that but he loves it. >> Speaker 4: I ended up being diagnosed with post-natal depression and going to the children's centre was way my of just, even if I just sat and talked to the people down there, or they took her of my hands for a little bit, or gave me a drink and let me hang around, they probably weren't supposed to, but they let me hang around after sessions if she needed feeding or if I wasn't in a fit state to go home. So I found that really, really useful. Everything on the surface looked fine to everybody but I think if we hadn't been going to that kind of thing and I hadn't been seeing other parents and thinking "well, hang on a minute, I don't think I am fine, compared to how these other mums look and are coping, this is not how I feel." >> Speaker 5: I don't think they realise how much good they do and what a place of refuge they are for mums and dads. It's a bit of a shock when you become a parent, for anybody, no matter what age or background you're from. It is a shock and you can go mad at home and if it wasn't for these groups running - where would you be? [Outro Music - Waiting For the Moment That Never Comes by Lee Rosevere]
