Jemima Blake, Psychology BSc >> I chose the School of Psychology at Kent because it's got great graduate prospects, it's really high up in the league table for psychology in particular and I noticed that the module choice is really diverse, so I've got to study quite a lot of interesting things and yeah it's built a great foundation of my knowledge. >> The facilities here at Kent are great, they've got eye tracking labs, EEG labs, child development labs. In my first year I took part in an EEG study and that was great fun. >> The computer suites here have 24-hour access as well which is really great, especially during exam time. >> So the ways we learn on this course is in lectures, the lecturer will stand up at the front and teach you everything there is to know on that topic. Seminars, more group discussions, more proactive learning and in labs. Either taking part in studies or conducting studies. >> My dissertation is investigating feminist identification and feminist ideology and the relation it has to attitudes towards men. So at the moment, really negative stereotypes of feminism kind of deter people from saying they're feminist and I think it's really important to kind of study if that has any truth behind it. >> I got interested in that because I just think it's a really hot topic at the moment in psychology. Social psychology really interests me. >> I mainly picked my supervisor because he's really approachable, he's one of my favourite lecturers and I knew that I'd find easy to work with him. >> I also saw that his project was a group project. At the moment, I'm working in a group of eight and I think that's a much much nicer environment to do group projects. We have great meetings every week. >> After I graduate I am actually looking to stay in Canterbury and do a Master's here in psychology, organisational psychology. I think that would be really interesting. I'd love to stay in Canterbury and further my knowledge.
