So, for my year abroad I went to Madrid for ten months, one academic year. Yeah it was an amazing experience. I had it on my course from when I first arrived and after my first year I was quite homesick, I didn't really think that I would go through with it. But again the University offers lectures to just give you information about it and because I went to those I was actually kind of pushed and encouraged to finally go, despite all of my fears. And yeah, I went, it was an amazing experience. I studied out there, so you still get the sense that you're being productive, it's not necessarily a year travelling, even though I travelled to many places. But, yes, I studied and you have to pass the year to then come back and carry on. It was good, it's a different experience IĠd say, a different outlook on English literature. I found when I went out there they took a lot of what I was saying for like for a hundred percent. They were like, oh she's English, she must know! But it's interesting, it's interesting to see how the Spanish are reading English literature. Not many people understood why I was in Spain studying English but yeah it was a good experience. So, when I first moved to Spain, obviously I knew a few girls going as well, and all of us were terrified for various reasons and it is, it can be daunting moving to another country, but in terms of Kent we always had the Erasmus Network here, the office were sending us emails and keeping us updated and letting us know everything we needed to know and they were always within reach. So, if we needed them we could email and they'd be emailing back within one or two days. I think it is just something you have to throw yourself into, it's not everyone settles in at different rates or but yeah it was fine. I think you just have to be real with yourself and call it home from the moment you get there and then you'll be fine. You adjust, and the weather was great, so it was easy.
